Rudrud, VanRooyan Selected for Top Prospects Tournament

Jan 26, 2022

BISMARCK, N.D.–Forward Quinn Rudrud and defenseman Aiden VanRooyan have been selected to represent the central division at the North American Hockey League Top Prospects Tournament.

Rudrud, a 20-year-old forward from Farmington, Minn., is in his second year with the Bobcats. One of only two players who have skated in every game, Rudrud leads the team with 15 goals. This is his second consecutive Top Prospects selection. Rudrud scored a goal in last year’s tournament.

VanRooyan, an 18-year-old defenseman from Dakota Dunes, S.D., is in his first year with the Bobcats after spending last season with the USHL’s Fargo Force. VanRooyan’s +12 rating is the best on the roster. “AVR,” who plays on the Bobcats’ second defensive pairing with Michael Neumeier, posted 3 assists and a +5 last weekend against North Iowa.

The Top Prospects Tournament will be held February 7th and 8th at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry Township, Pa., the Pittsburgh Penguins’ practice rink. The games will be broadcast on HockeyTV. More information, along with full rosters, can be found on the league website at http://www.nahl.com/tpt/.
