This isn’t their first rodeo playing together. Forward Evan Hunter, and Defensemen Ian Engel and Matthew Rafalski have actually suited up for the same team prior to playing for the Bismarck Bobcats.
All three played together under Matthew’s dad, former NHLer, Brian Rafalski from the ages of 13-16. They mentioned how cool it has been to grow up playing together and to finish out their junior careers by each other’s sides. “It’s something super cool. We played together for four years, grew up playing together, and then took a little three-year hiatus and then we’re all back together. Hopefully, put a little bow on it and do something special together,” Engel said.
Hunter and Engel have both eclipsed the 150 game mark in the NAHL, while Rafalski recently hit the 100 game mark as well. They are ready for the push and hopefully to end their junior careers standing side-by-side as Robertson Cup Champions. “There’s no other group I’d rather win the Robertson Cup with and take it all the way.” Rafalski added.
