Bobcats to Join Dreams in Motion Saturday

BISMARCK, ND — Before the Bismarck Bobcats wrap up the 2014 preseason Saturday, they will spend the afternoon with Dreams in Motion at the VFW Sports Center.

Saturday is Community Day for Dreams in Motion, a Mandan-based organization whose goal is to provide recreational and sporting opportunities for youth and young adults, from ages 2 to 25, with mobility challenges or visual impairments and their families and friends.

The event runs from 1:00-4:00pm and will feature sled hockey and wheelchair basketball demonstrations. The Bobcats will be joining in the festivities throughout the day.

Special guests for the day include Josh Sweeney and Luke McDermott from the US Paralympian Sled Hockey team; Sweeney is the captain of Team USA for 2014-15. Bismarck native Derrick Bisnett will also be on hand to demonstrate wheelchair basketball; Bisnett plays wheelchair basketball at the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, where he has won two national championships.

Guests are welcome to play sled hockey and wheelchair basketball throughout the day (with a signed release; minors will need a parent's signature).
