Bobcats Draft Ten, Including Rauhauser
BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats loaded up their roster at the 2014 NAHL Entry Draft, selecting 10 players—nine skaters and one goalie—for the upcoming 2014-15 season. One of the players drafted was Bismarck native and former Century High School standout Alec Rauhauser.
With 12 players aging out from the 2013-14 squad, including five headed to the NCAA Division I level, the Bobcats had needs at every position. By the time they used their last pick in the 11th round, the Cats had accrued six forwards, three defensemen and a netminder.
“We are very pleased with today’s draft,” expressed Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, who presided over his fifth draft on Tuesday. “We had a lot of holes to fill, losing over half of our roster from last year. We think highly of all 10 guys we picked; each of them will be a big piece to the puzzle going forward.”
Tuesday’s draft picks will be added to 11 returners and nine players who signed pre-draft tender offers to give the Cats a 30-man Protected List for the 2014.

The Bobcats discovered their top pick Werhane less than two weeks prior the Draft at the team’s Pre-Draft Camp in Denver, Colo.
In his time at Century High, Rauhauser piled up 52 goals and 84 assists and was a finalist for the Outstanding Senior Athlete award for hockey in 2013.
Hannon was named MVP of the Great Lakes Hockey Conference in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula after a 70-point season (26g, 44a) for Houghton High School to go with a plus-59 rating.
Next up for the Bobcats during the 2014 offseason will be the team’s Main Camp at the VFW Sports Center, July 25-27. As it is every year, Main Camp will be open to the public.
