BISMARCK, ND–The Bismarck Bobcats hit the road Friday for a date with the Brookings Blizzard.
The Bobcats enter the weekend with 12 points in the NAHL Central division and a 6-2 overall record, trailing frontrunner Austin by two points. Bismarck has won four straight, sweeping Wenatchee and Aberdeen in two-game series the past two weekends.
Brookings has struggled to an 0-7-1 start, picking up their lone point of the season in a 4-3 shootout loss to Kenai River on September 21st. Austin topped the Blizzard 11-1 in Austin during the Blizzard's last contest last Saturday.
Bobcats forward Filip Starzynski (Warsaw, Poland) is tied for third in the NAHL scoring derby, with 12 points on six goals and six assists. Nate Repensky (Duluth, MN) has 11 assists, tied for seventh in the league in scoring, and Stanislav Dzakhov (Moscow, Russia) has 10 points, including seven goals, a number that is second-best in the NAHL.
Faceoff at the Larson Ice Center in Brookings Friday will be at 7:15 p.m. The Bobcats will head back to Brookings next Friday as well, then return to Bismarck Saturday, October 19th, to host the Blizzard. For tickets, call the Bismarck Bobcat ticket office at 222-3300.
