Goalie Shane, Forward McNarland Join Cats
Bismarck, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats have acquired goaltender Ian Shane and forward Karter McNarland in two separate trades.
“We’ve made two additions, one being a veteran goalie to go with our younger guys,” said Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie. “That was an area of concern for us. McNarland has shown he can be a scorer, and he’s a young guy with a lot of upside we thought we could add to our forward group.”
Shane, 20, was picked up from the Chicago Steel of the USHL. He posted a 20-5-3 record with the Steel across two seasons, including a 16-3-1 record last year. The Huntington Beach, California native is committed to play division one hockey for Cornell University.
McNarland, 17, played 9 games with the Sioux Falls Stampede in the USHL before the Bobcats acquired him. The native of Saskatoon, Canada had 50 points in 57 games with the Humboldt Broncos of the SJHL last season. McNarland is also committed to play division one hockey at the University of Vermont.
