Apr 23, 2024

BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats have signed defensemen Nolan Smith to a tender agreement for the 2024-25 season.

Nolan is an ’05 born player who has played at the NA3HL level with the Mason City Toro who in 9 games with the Toros scored 14 points.

“Nolan has received high praise from every coach that he’s played for, stating how coachable he is as a player. Nolan is somewhat of a late bloomer where he still has a lot left in his game. We believe that his game will translate very well to the Central division and be a nice piece to our team up front.”

~Niko Kapetanovic (Bismarck Bobcats Assistant General Manager)

Nolan started his hockey career with the Minnesota Polars 14UAAA, and from there worked his way from the MNHP to the NAPHL 18U AAA with the Minnesota Walleye and the Ohio Blue Jackets. He played for his high school team Sartell-St. Stephen High School in the USHS-MN. In the 2023-24 season Nolan went from the T1EHL 18U and 18UAAA with the Ohio Blue Jackets where he scored 16 points in 41 games to the Mason City Toros of the NA3HL. Now he made his way to Bismarck as part of the NAHL.

Tender agreements are contracts handing a North American Hockey League team rights to a player for the upcoming season.
