BISMARCK, N.D.–The Bismarck Bobcats added another Michigander to their tender class for the 2023-24 season, signing forward Jack Roberts.
Roberts, a 17-year-old from Chelsea, Mich. played in the Michigan Developmental Hockey League this fall with team MDHL Red. Roberts finished second in scoring for the entire league with 11 goals and 26 points in 12 games.
“Jack is a big-bodied right winger,” said Sean Clark, Bobcats’ scout. “(Roberts) has the ability to impact the game with his physicality and scoring touch.”
Roberts, listed at 6’1″ 187 pounds, is a senior at Chelsea high school as well, where he recorded over two points per game last season.
A tender agreement is a contract giving a North American Hockey League team the rights to a player for the upcoming season. If a tendered player decides to join the NAHL, he would join the Bobcats. Tendered players who are current rookies on this year’s team include Julian Beaumont, Ian Engel, Mitch Simmons, and Nick Baer.
