Bobcats Hire Johnson as Director of Marketing
BISMARCK, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats, entering their 21st season of play in the capital region, are pleased to announce the newest member of their staff: Russell Johnson, who has joined the Cats’ front office as Director of Marketing.
“Russell is a University of Mary graduate with a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management; over the last two years, he has been a terrific intern who is full of energy so it’s very exciting to be able to bring him on board in this creative management position” stated Bobcats team owner and CEO Thom Brigl.
Johnson started as a game operations intern in 2015-16 and also served as the Bobcats on-ice master of ceremonies for the during the 2016-17 season; his primary responsibilities will be growing and serving a great sponsor base as well as creating a fun and exciting fan experience.
“Being able to work in the great sport of hockey, for a franchise I’m already so close to, is a great privilege,” added Johnson, a native of Moorhead, Minn., “because working at this level of hockey really lets you demonstrate your passion for sports and turn that into something that benefits not only the team but also our fans and partners.”
The Bobcats are happy to welcome Russell—who starts immediately—into the organization for the upcoming campaign.
The always-busy Bobcat offseason continues with Main Tryout Camp at the VFW Sports Center, scheduled for July 21-23. Admission will be free and open to the public, as always, for the Bobcats’ Main Camp.
