Aide Named Central Star of the Week
FRISCO, TX – Thanks to a four-point weekend that helped the Bismarck Bobcats secure a critical road split at Austin, the North American Hockey League named forward Harrison Aide the Central Division Star of the Week Monday.
In both Friday’s 7-3 defeat and Saturday’s 8-1 victory, Aide paced the Bobcat offense with a goal and an assist for four total points on the weekend.
Three of his four points came on the power play—a unit which came alive at Riverside Arena, combining to go 4-for-11 in two nights.
“Harrison gave us a much-needed boost on the power play this weekend, showing great vision and a really impressive shot,” credited Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, whose team’s power play average rose nearly four percent to a 14.7% efficiency. “The ‘PP’ is going to have to continue to be productive if we want to compete in the Central Division, and we expect Harry to be a big part of that.”
All told, Aide’s line with Alex Strand and Tobias Fladeby combined for four goals and five assists against the Bruins.
“Five-on-five, the Aide-Strand-Fladeby line has been a constant for us since early October,” added Sedevie.
Monday marks the third time this season a Bobcat player has earned Star of the Week honors from the NAHL.
Center Jared Resseguie also found himself on the league’s weekly honor roll, picking up an honorable mention for the Star of the Week award courtesy of a four-assist, plus-four weekend against the B’s.
It will be a quick turnaround for Aide, Resseguie and the rest of the Bobcats, who host the Brookings Blizzard on Wednesday night in a pre-Thanksgiving divisional tilt.
