Defenseman Earns College Commitment with Beavers
Bismarck, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats are pleased to announce that defenseman Will Magnuson has officially committed to play Division I college hockey at Bemidji State University.
“It was a few pretty quick conversations, and they offered me today,” Magnuson said. “It wasn’t too much of a hard process to go through with them.”
Magnuson, 19, had posted six points in 17 games this season for the Bobcats. His three power play goals lead all NAHL defensemen, while his five power play points are tied for second.
“Bemidji is in my home state, so it’s easy travel for my family to go to games and easy travel for myself,” Magnuson said. “It’s in a great place with a good conference for hockey.”
Magnuson is the sixth Bobcat to commit this season. Forward Lars Rødne and defenseman Jonathan Ziskie each committed to Niagara University in November, while defenseman John Gormley (Long Island University), forward Tim Piechowski (University of St. Thomas) and defenseman Thomas Bergsland (Colgate University) each committed earlier this month.
“My time in Bismarck has been great so far, with great teammates and great coaches” Magnuson said. “Everyone has helped make me a better player through practices and game situations.”
