Forward Signs with Tommies
Bismarck, ND – The Bismarck Bobcats are pleased to announce that forward Tim Piechowski has officially committed to play Division I college hockey at the University of St. Thomas.
“They reached out this summer a few times, and throughout the year they’ve been talking with me,” Piechowski said. “They offered me, and I talked with my friends and family and it seemed like a great fit. It checked all my boxes for me, and as a school it was perfect.”
“Timmy has done a nice job here in Bismarck,” said Bobcats head coach Layne Sedevie. “He’s going to have success at the next level because he’s big, he can skate and he can protect pucks.”
Piechowski, 20, has 7 points in 12 games played this season. He has 56 points in 108 career games in the NAHL, all with the Bobcats.
“Bismarck has given me an amazing opportunity to grow, both on the ice and off as a person,” Piechowski said. “The league is so tough, but the coaches do a great job developing us as players and as men. It’s been an amazing experience and I wouldn’t trade it for the world.”
Piechowski is the fourth Bobcat to commit this season. Forward Lars Rødne and defenseman Jonathan Ziskie each committed to Niagara University in November, while defenseman John Gormley committed to Long Island University earlier this month.
“His most underrated skill is his shot, he has a great shot,” Sedevie said. “For the major part of three years here he’s been one of the top players in our program.”
