BISMARCK, ND–After a four-point weekend, Bobcat forward Huba Sekesi (Munich, Germany) has earned league honors.
Sekesi was named the NAHL Central Division Easton Star of the Week for his performance at Austin in a pair of games won by the Bobcats Friday and Saturday. His empty net goal sealed Friday’s 4-2 win, and two goals and an assist were part of a 7-0 rout of the Bruins by the Bobcats on Saturday.
The weekend saw Sekesi join the 30-point club, one of five Bobcats to achieve the mark, with a total of 31 points for the season. He has anchored perhaps the most effective line for the Bobcats, with linemates Evan Giesler (Naperville, IL) notching 33 points and Cullen Willox (Eagan, MN) recording 26.
Sekesi will represent the Bobcats at the NAHL Top Prospects Tournament in Troy, MI, February 17th and 18th. His 14 goals is second-most among Bobcats, behind Stanislav Dzakhov’s 21.
Tyler Dunagan (Maple Grove, MN) was an honorable mention for the Star of the Week award. He also recorded a four-point weekend, scoring the game-winning goal Friday night, then recording two goals and an assist in Saturday’s lopsided win.
The Bobcats play home-and-home with Minot this week, traveling to Minot Friday, then hosting the Minotauros on Saturday. Tickets for Saturday’s game are available at 222-3300 or online at www.bismarckbobcats.com.
