Bobcats Acquire Forward Morberg from Amarillo
BISMARCK, ND – Needing to bolster their depth along the front line with only 12 forwards on their roster, the Bismarck Bobcats pulled the trigger on a player-for-player trade: sending defenseman Noah Bormann to the Amarillo Bulls in exchange for forward Simon Morberg.
“Simon is a big, power forward-type that can shoot well and plays hard every night,” noted Sedevie on the 6-foot-2 lefty. “He brings a good physical presence along with a strong set of skills.”
In 26 appearances with the Bulls, the Goteborg, Sweden, native notched 15 points on eight goals and seven assists. He found his way onto the score sheet against the Bobcats when they faced the Bulls at the NAHL Showcase on September 22, registering an assist.
After the December departures of forwards Jared Resseguie and Ty Enns, the Bobcats were left with exactly 12 forwards on their active roster—leaving them with no room to rest any forwards amid a 60-game regular season.
In 78 appearances with the Bobcats dating back to the start of the 2016-17 season, Bormann had five goals and 12 assists in black and gold.
On the ice, the Bobcats will open 2018 on Saturday night with a 7:15pm home clash with the Brookings Blizzard at the VFW Sports Center.
