Forward Olson Set to Return to Bobcats

BISMARCK, ND — The Bismarck Bobcats are pleased to announce that forward Hunter Olson will return to the team for the 2018-19 stretch run and playoffs.

Olson, an 18-year-old native of Bemidji, Minn., started the season with the Bobcats—notching one goal and one assist in 11 appearances—before returning to Bemidji High School for his senior season with the Lumberjacks.

“Hunter coming back to finish the season is a big addition to our roster,” explained Bobcats head coach and general manager Layne Sedevie, “and he actually showed that while he was with us through September and October. His skating ability, combined with his work ethic, is exactly what we need in the playoff chase.”

In 22 appearances this season with Bemidji High, Olson leads the Lumberjacks in points (23), goals (12) and assists (11).

Added to an open roster spot prior to Sunday’s final protected list deadline, Olson will join the Bobcats following the conclusion of the Lumberjacks’ season; the Minnesota Section 8AA playoffs open on Tuesday, February 19, at home sites.

The Bobcats continue their playoff push on Thursday when they open a three-game weekend at Aberdeen before returning to face Minnesota at the VFW Sports Center on Friday & Saturday. Fans can buy & print tickets for the weekend games 24 hours a day at BismarckBobcats.com or by clicking “Shop Now” at the top of the Bobcats’ Facebook page.
